Who can become a member of the Alumni and Friends Association?
The AFL is aimed at students, alumni, staff and lecturers of the University and its predecessor institutions. Students and alumni from all disciplines of Leuphana University Lüneburg, the University of Lüneburg, FH Nordostniedersachsen and the University of Education can become members. Companies and organisations that wish to cooperate with the association can join as supporting members.
How can I become a member of the Alumni and Friends Association?
For membership in the Alumni and Friends Association, you simply need to complete the application form and send it to the board. Membership takes effect once the written declaration of admission has been submitted.

What does membership cost?
Membership costs €35 per year for graduates, lecturers and staff, and €7 per year for students. Membership fees are tax-deductible. Your bank statement is generally sufficient as a donation receipt. What are membership fees used for?
Membership fees may be used only for purposes set out in the association’s statutes. The board decides how the fees are used at its monthly board meetings. The statutes specify that the association serves to promote science and research as well as student support. Science and research are promoted through material resources, for example by the AFL purchasing technical equipment. Students are supported through advice and referral services, the organisation of graduation ceremonies, fostering post-university contacts and financial grants. Members of the Alumni and Friends Association do not receive profit shares or any other benefits from the association’s funds.
Are supporting memberships possible?
